Corrective Exercises & Rehabilitation
Therapeutic exercises are given during the initial part of care to aid the adjustment and other therapeutic modalities in reducing pain. Initially, the prescribed exercises are considered “low-tech”
The exercises serve to help the patient hold their adjustments and distribute the stress of life to the areas that can handle it. It is when we compensate that we start to put that stress of repetitive movement in the wrong areas and make ourselves susceptible to injuries and increased pain.
Once pain is under control the exercises can be progressed to stabilize and strengthen the areas that are leading to your dysfunction. These are specific to the patient’s evaluation and goals and typically become more complex and “high-tech”
